When Should A Wheel Alignment Be Performed?

  • If your vehicle is pulling while driving (other things besides an mis-alignment can also cause pulling)
  • If your vehicle "pulls" during acceleration
  • If you have hit a curb or debris in the road
  • If you have unusual tire wear
  • After replacing worn suspension items
  • At manufacturer recommended intervals

For optimal performance, a complete wheel alignment and tire check should be performed every 10,000 miles or once per year, whichever comes first. A suspension inspection is often done at the same time to reveal any problems before they get out of hand.

Why is Alignment Service So Important?

Even small a misalignment can hinder vehicle performance and cost you money. Benefits of proper wheel and frame alignment include:

  • Increased gas mileage; wheel misalignment causes friction that burns more gas
  • Tire rotation reduces wear and tear so tires last longer
  • Proper tire balance improves vehicle handling and eliminates steering pulls, vibrations, and shimmying
  • Improved vehicle handling increases safety on the road
